Catherine has been cooking for as long as she can remember, learning to make Scotch bannocks on her Granny’s Raeburn and making jellies to set outside in the snow. Cooking sustained her through a successful career in law, seeking solace in the kitchen after long days in the courtroom. The arrival of two small children and the move to rural Fife was the catalyst to swap her advocate’s wig and gown for a chef’s whites, going back to college to train as a chef. Since then her life has transformed, learning from some of the best in the industry and working at The Newport, award-winning AA Restaurant of the Year.
Catherine is known for her incredible attention to detail and organisation, never happier than when she’s in the kitchen or planning an event. She has cooked and organized events in some of the most prestigious private houses and venues in the area, from castles to mansions to luxurious hideaways by the sea, always striving to exceed expectations, delivering outstanding flavour with a creative eye. She has cooked for key figures in the entertainment and media industry. As well as taking part in live cook theatre demos at food festivals and shows, she writes a regular monthly food column in The Courier and accepts magazine commissions for food styling and food writing.
