Harper & lime was launched in 2018, delivering exceptional bespoke catering, executed with style, inspired by seasonal local ingredients and the best that Scotland has to offer from land and sea. From our countryside home, perched above the River Eden in the beautiful Howe of Fife, we are surrounded by the best local produce with which to stock our kitchen.
We have fish and shellfish delivered fresh daily from the nearby East Neuk, beef from grass fed Dexter cattle less than ten miles away, fruit and vegetables grown within a ten mile radius, foraged wood sorrel and sweet cicely from the woods nearby and our own sea buckthorn, apples, blackberries, rosehips and gooseberries.
Catherine has been cooking for as long as she can remember, learning to make Scotch bannocks on her Granny’s Raeburn and making jellies to set outside in the snow. Cooking sustained her through a successful career in law, seeking solace in the kitchen after long days in the courtroom. The arrival of two small children and the move to rural Fife was the catalyst to swap her advocate’s wig and gown for a chef’s whites, going back to college to train as a chef. Since then her life has transformed, learning from some of the best in the industry and working at The Newport, award-winning AA Restaurant of the Year.
Catherine is known for her incredible attention to detail and organisation, never happier than when she’s in the kitchen or planning an event. She has cooked and organized events in some of the most prestigious private houses and venues in the area, from castles to mansions to luxurious hideaways by the sea, always striving to exceed expectations, delivering outstanding flavor with a creative eye. She has cooked for key figures in the entertainment and media industry.
Catherine has also taken part in live cook theatre demos at food festivals and shows, writes a regular monthly food column in The Courier and accepts magazine commissions for food styling and food writing.
With Harper & lime, Catherine works directly with all her clients, bringing her own passion and energy to every event. Exceptional food, warm Scottish hospitality, a creative approach and a commitment to use only the best seasonal produce is what we strive for every time.
What an incredible dinner! Thank you so much to Catherine for providing such excellent food and service for our 15-person event. The whole evening was flawless, and the food received rave reviews from all of the guests. We had hot smoked salmon and crispy quails egg, pheasant, and then cheesecake to finish. All delicious!

The food was exceptional from the nibbles right through to the very indulgent dessert. We could not decide which of the starters was the favourite. Each one got a vote and they were all wonderful. The lamb was cooked to perfection. As for the chocolate? Seriously yummy!....The whole package was second to none.
